Sydney Sweeney will star in Jon M. Chu's "Split Fiction" adaptation.

American actress Sydney Sweeney will star in the film adaptation of the action-adventure video game ' Split Fiction ', by director Jon M. Chu (' Wicked '), reported the specialized media Variety.

The script is being developed by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick , known for their work on 'Deadpool & Wolverine' (2024).

' Split Fiction ' follows the story of Mio and Zoe, two writers who find themselves trapped in their own literary creations and must work together to escape and regain their memories.

The video game is designed for two players and was created by Hazelight Studios and distributed by Electronic Arts.

According to the American publication, it is not yet decided which character the ' Euphoria ' actress will play.

Video game industry

• The first announcement about the project came in March, during a video game industry conference held in San Francisco.

Story Kitchen is overseeing the project, which joins a list of video game adaptations to film that includes the live-action Sonic films and the premiere of the animated Tomb Raider series.

John M. Chu is set to release the second season of the musical " Wicked " this year. The first season earned him ten Oscar nominations, while Sweeney is slated to premiere the third season of " Euphoria " in 2026.
